Description

This is a hybrid role that will require regular travel across Hampshire and Surrey with occasional visits to the Support Centre in Berkshire.

For the successful candidate we are happy to offer further personnel development by way of a Level 3 L&D or HR apprenticeship. 

Main purpose of position 

This is an exciting opportunity within a developing and fast-growing division of SCL Education Group. This position will play a pivotal role in achieving our future growth plans within both SCL – Active & SCL Pro business divisions.

The primary role of the Talent & Onboarding Partner is focusing on making the Recruitment & Onboarding process at SCL Active a market leading experience. You must clearly relay the values of the business and create a lasting first impression to new candidates ensuring that only the right candidates are brought on board while ensuring that challenging KPIs and targets are achieved.

Reporting to the Training & Development manager, you will be responsible for talent attraction, overall onboarding experience and improving retention of staff at SCL Active. You will be required to think outside the box to reach out target audience and ensure effective communication with candidates and support functions to provide a time effective onboarding process. The role is an integral part of the business and the future growth of the department.

Key responsibilities & duties 

  • Create a market leading first impression and ensure that new starters are receiving an exemplary onboarding and induction experience.
  • Out the box thinking for talent attraction and support the recruitment teams attraction strategies
  • Support the retention of staff and mapping career pathways.
  • Support in monitoring the work for SCL inbox; ensuring queries are responded to in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support the Operations team and Recruitment with the end-to-end process for all vacancies.
  • Provide hiring managers with advice on the recruitment and selection process from role release through to onboarding.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to produce accurate and engaging job descriptions and adverts.
  • Promote roles in new innovative ways to attract talent utilising digital platforms.
  • Support Hiring Managers and the Recruitment team with the interviewing and selection process where required.
  • Act as an interview panel member, as and when required.
  • Be the first point of contact for all onboarding queries and advice.
  • Provide support across other Recruitment and Onboarding activities, as required.
  • Work with training & development manager to set up onboarding training for new starters.
  • Work with the Hiring Manager and People team to onboard and engage new starters in the process, ensuring excellent communication and experience.
  • Produce induction plans and agree start dates with candidates.
  • Support new starters on site inductions ensuring consistency and quality across all sites.
  • Ensure efficient process is in place for DBS approval & RTW confirmation either digitally or face to face.
  • Work with the operations team to identify high priority roles to be focused on
  • Work with site leaders to action localised recruitment plan
  • Work with the Operations and Marketing teams to promote our fulltime, part time casual and apprenticeships roles.
