Job Description:

The Apprenticeship Funding Assurance Auditor will specialise in Apprenticeship regulatory compliance, completing audits to ensure that Data is complete and compliant with the ESFA regulations. As auditor, you will complete funding assurance audits following internal audit schedules and adhoc audits where required, working with the Apprenticeship delivery and operational teams to resolve any compliance queries and action plan any risk plus recommendations. Reporting directly to the Head of Audit and Assurance, you will be a key member of our internal compliance structure.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Follow an internal audit schedule of the Apprenticeship funding stream, in line with audit guidance and working papers.
  • Assist in Internal audits within other delivery and operational teams, when required.
  • Work with the Head of Audit and Assurance and wider team to complete audit checks and sample of DSAT monthly reports.
  • Develop, produce and maintain audit reports, actions and recommendation plan including risk registers on the back of audit findings and changes within funding rules and education sector.
  • Lead Compliance meetings on the back of audits, action plans and recommendations with the Apprenticeship delivery and operational teams, ensuring compliance regulations are adhered to and met.
  • Monitor and report on compliance risks and trends to the Head of Audit and Assurance on the back of completed audits.
  • To contribute to the preparation of external audit and reviews.
  • Identify areas for improvement and uncover concealed risks and common issues.
  • Develop, produce and deliver training around compliance requirements and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to ESFA funding streams.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Maintain documentation evidence of audit to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • To undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be determined from time to time by the line manager in consultation with the post holder.
