Join SCL Education as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) Regional Safeguarding Officer
Are you a safeguarding expert with experience in casework and contextual safeguarding?
Do you have a passion for protecting young people with vulnerabilities and complex needs? SCL Education is looking for a Regional Safeguarding Officer & DDSL to provide operational safeguarding support across our specialist provision settings.
This hybrid role is based in the West Midlands (3 days on-site, 2 days home working), with occasional travel to other national sites. You’ll lead safeguarding assessments, develop safety plans, manage complex cases, and work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure our learners are safe and supported.
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a DSL in education, PRUs, residential, or sports/specialist settings.
- Strong experience in casework and contextual safeguarding.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, risk assessment, and safety planning.
- Excellent communication, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across sites.
- Prevent and Safer Recruitment training.
