At SCL, we believe that everyone has potential and our role is to create the environment, opportunities and support that enable people to discover it and achieve it.
For more than 20 years, SCL has been delivering education and training inspired by our passion for sport and more recently, performing arts. Today, we support thousands of learners across the UK, helping young people develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and behaviours they need to progress into their chosen careers and next steps.
Our ambition is to continue setting the standard for education that genuinely inspires learners and prepares them for the future. We are committed to providing high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, while creating a culture where our people are supported to continually improve and where quality has a meaningful impact on learner outcomes.
Our FACT values sit at the heart of how we work. They shape the way we work with our learners, our colleagues and our partners and provide the foundation for our culture of high expectations, collaboration and continuous improvement.
As part of our continued growth and commitment to quality, we are looking for an experienced Group Quality Lead / Internal Quality Assurer to join our Quality Team.
This is a unique full-time role, with an approximate 50/50 split between Group Quality Leadership and Internal Quality Assurance, providing the opportunity to influence quality at both an organisational and operational level.
Main Purpose of Position
The Group Quality Lead / Internal Quality Assurer is a full-time role within the Quality Team, with responsibilities divided approximately equally between Group Quality Leadership and Internal Quality Assurance.
The postholder will play a key role in maintaining and improving the quality of teaching, learning, assessment and learner experience across the organisation.
The role brings together two complementary areas of quality activity:
Group Quality Lead (GQL) (50%) – providing challenge, support and leadership to drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning, assessment and learner outcomes.
Internal Quality Assurer (50%) – providing robust assurance that assessment and quality processes are effective, consistent and compliant with organisational, awarding organisation and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be an experienced education professional who can move confidently between strategic quality improvement and detailed quality assurance. They will use evidence, professional judgement and constructive challenge to identify strengths, manage risk and support sustainable improvement.
A key expectation of the role is to ensure that quality assurance is not viewed simply as a compliance exercise, but as a means of improving the experience, progress and outcomes of learners.
