Description

SCL is the UK's largest provider of education and skills training within the sports and performing arts sector, positively impacting the future prospects of children and young people.

As we grow our network of JCQ-approved exam centres, we're looking for an Exams Manager to take ownership of exams across the business; support with the strategy behind our expanding centre network, the standards that keep every site compliant, and the budget and commercial opportunities that come with running our own centres well. You'll lead an exams team and be the point of contact when the JCQ, awarding bodies and our own leadership team need answers. It's a genuinely developing role in a function that's growing, so there's real scope to shape how it works, not just run it.

SCL is a fast-paced, growing business that's genuinely committed to developing people from within. You'll also have access to attractive benefits, including a Simply Health Cash Plan, Life Assurance, Income Protection and a range of other perks.

Main Purpose of Position

To support and implement the strategic development and delivery of the Exams function across all sites, ensuring an efficient, effective and fully compliant examinations service for GCSE, A Level and accredited short course learners, in accordance with JCQ regulations and awarding organisation requirements.

The Exams Manager will take full ownership of the organisation's JCQ centre network, leading its continued expansion, ensuring consistent compliance and quality standards across all centres, and driving the commercial development of exam services, including income generation from the organisation's own JCQ centres.

Reporting to the Executive Group Director of Learner Services, the postholder will lead the exams team, have sight of the Exams budget, and act as the organisation's point of contact for the JCQ, awarding bodies and the third-party exams provider.

This is a developing role within the exams career pathway, offering significant scope to shape exams strategy, lead centre network growth, and build a genuinely commercial, income-generating exams service.
