Description

This is an apprenticeship role leading to a level 3 qualification (A-level equivalent). The staff member will collaborate with experienced colleagues to gain in-depth understanding and experience of customer support within an academic library.

Working on the library floors, the Customer Support apprentice is a campus-based post that provides help, support and advice for library users; this role requires strong communication and conflict resolution abilities, confidence in enforcing library rules while maintaining a courteous attitude, good observation skills to identify potential study disruptions and a commitment to foster a productive academic study environment.

The post-holder will provide a welcoming and efficient service to students and visitors,  

creating a positive impression of Stockwell Street Library. They will effectively and  

proactively manage challenging behaviours and situations, in a calm and professional  

manner, ensuring the library environment is conducive to study and learning.

This role is 27 hours per week, including one dedicated study day of 7 hours. Actual working days / times to be agreed as per the needs of the service.
